Dozens of Las Vegas valley students graduated from high school Tuesday but what's different is that they took their classes online.

Nevada Virtual Academy is a statewide online public charter school.

Many of the students have interacted with each other through virtual classrooms, making the graduation the first time many had met in person.

"We all are going to a private chat room and the teacher will ask questions and we all get to put our voices and communicate with each other and help understand if anyone's behind so they all make sure that we're all the same pace," Alexis Lopez said.

146 students took part in Tuesday's graduation ceremony at Aliante hotel-casino in North Las Vegas.
