The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council first designated July 19 as “National Hot Dog Day” back in 1991, while also designating July as “National Hot Dog Month.”
This year marks the 26th anniversary of the food holiday, which coincides with a hot dog lunch on Capitol Hill every year, on the third Wednesday in July.
