Sip + Savor kicks off Sept. 9 at the Mob Museum in downtown Las Vegas.

This program, sponsored by Johnson Brothers of Nevada, consists of blind tastings of four different distilled beverages, held from 2 to 5 p.m.  every Saturday in September. The cost per tasting is $5 in addition to all admission prices.

Guests will put their senses to the test during the 10-minute presentation, determining whether they can correctly identify whiskey, gin, rum and moonshine during a blind tasting. Museum educators will guide the tasting, sharing information about the history of Prohibition, how the spirits are made, what flavor profiles are associated with each, and how to use the nose and the palate to get the most enjoyment out of each spirit.

In addition, anyone interested in learning more about Prohibition can also log onto The Mob Museum’s permanent digital exhibit, “Prohibition: An Interactive History.” Developed by Museum staff, it provides an educational and enjoyable ride through Prohibition’s many facets revealing surprising insights into one of the most interesting and misunderstood periods in American history through photographs, text, videos and a variety of interactive elements.
