7-Eleven is celebrating its 90th birthday on July 11 by giving away free small Slurpees at participating 7-eleven locations nationwide.
The giveaway is taking place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. while supplies last.
Participating stores will also be carrying some selfie swag as 7-Eleven will be introducing NEW Slurpee Chrome Dome Lids and Chrome Dome Cups. The new cup design features colorful bubbles and swirls. The small cups for free Slurpee drinks will feature the new design. Other sizes will launch later.
A new Ultimate Slurp Straw that is more than twice as big as a regular straw will make the small Slurpee go down even faster and supports a Brainfreeze® waiting to happen.
7-Eleven is also inviting Slurpee fans to try its new Cotton Candy Slurpee.
And the birthday fun doesn’t stop there. Slurpee fans can celebrate all week from July 12-18 with Slurpee Week, where customers who buy seven total Slurpee drinks throughout the week through the 7-Eleven mobile app will get 11 Slurpee drinks FREE.
Once seven Slurpee drinks are purchased, 11 FREE Slurpee coupons will automatically appear in the "Scan and Save" section of the 7-Eleven mobile app 24 hours after the qualifying drink purchase. The 11 FREE Slurpee drink coupons may be redeemed one at a time or all at once. Deadline to enjoy all 11 free Slurpee drinks is Aug. 31, 2017.
7-Eleven introduced its iconic frozen carbonated beverage in 1966, and it was an immediate hit. The next year, the company's advertising director coined the word "Slurpee" to describe the sound the drink made traveling through the straw. And a star was born.
