The winter holidays are still a few months away, but one hotel-casino company is already thinking about the season of giving.

Boyd Gaming is accepting applications from nonprofit organizations to participate in the 3rd annual Trees of Hope.

35 groups will be selected to decorate a tree at one of seven participating properties - Aliante, California, Cannery, Gold Coast, The Orleans, Sam’s Town and Suncoast. Guests will then get to vote for their favorite tree at each hotel-casino.

The top three trees at each property will win $2,000, $1,500, and $1,000 respectively. All 35 nonprofit organizations are guaranteed a cash prize of $375, bringing the total prize pool to $35,000.

Marianne Johnson, Vice Chairman, Executive Vice President, and Chief Diversity Officer of Boyd Gaming says that they've received tens of thousands of votes from customers in previous Trees of Hope events.

“This has made Trees of Hope much more than a fundraising opportunity – it has also become a great platform to showcase the work that southern Nevada’s local non-profits are doing in our community, each and every day,” she said.

Entries will be accepted through October 15. Applicants must represent a certified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving the Southern Nevada community and must provide proof of tax status when submitting an entry. A full list of rules and conditions will be available upon request.

Nonprofits can submit their entries via email at TreesOfHope@boydgaming.com.
