110 people braved the chilling waters at Sunset Station to raise more than $35,000 for Special Olympics Nevada during the Las Vegas Polar Plunge.

On March 3, spectators watched as costumed competitors dove into a pool chilled with more than 1,000 pounds of ice. Judges for the event included Washoe Sheriff Chuck Allen, Patty Barba of Patty's Closet, J.J. Snyder of the Morning Blend, and a group of celebrity impersonators. The UNLV marching band also performed at the event.

Funds raised from the event helped Special Olympics Nevada provide free year-round sports training and competitions, health services, and education programs for 3,500 people with intellectual disabilities.
