Known for large scale construction and heavy equipment, Las Vegas Paving has broken ground on a new child-friendly project designed to fire up the imaginations of pediatric cancer patients. Nevada’s leading heavy construction firm is one of the founding sponsor of the valley’s first Construction vs Cancer event with the American Cancer Society. A website supporting the autumn event launched this month at www. constructionvscancer.org.
Created specifically for pediatric cancer patients, the inaugural event will give Las Vegas children an exclusive opportunity to operate heavy machinery, including back-hoes, diggers, excavators (with supervision). Additional attractions will include a performance by MGM Grand dance artists, Jabbawockeez, displays with BJ Baldwin’s Monster Race Trucks, LVMPD patrol cars, and LVFD vehicles for up-close-and-personal experiences.
The event is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, October 7, at Symphony Park, 100 South City Parkway in Las Vegas.
