A couple was reunited with their dog after more than six months.

2-year-old Australian Shepherd mix Kacy was found in Batavia, New York, 80 miles away from her owners' home. He had run away from his home in Alleghany County, New York, when Pam and Joe McLaughlin let him out for a walk in February.

A woman in Batavia spotted Kacy on her porch and recognized the dog from a missing pets Facebook page.

The McLaughlins told WHAM in Rochester, New York that Kacy suffered frostbite on his ear and is being treated for fleas and worms. He is otherwise in good health.

“I thought he was gone,” Joe McLaughlin told WHAM. “Either hit by a car, or we have a lot of coyotes. But he survived, and it’s unbelievable.”
