Online startup encouraging people to trade leftovers
(KTNV) -- Would you eat someone else's leftovers?
An online startup wants to help people get rid of their leftovers and help prevent food waste.
LeftoverSwap.com will allow users to view leftovers in their area, make a selection, and then arrange for pick-up or delivery.
The website claims that 40 percent of the food that is produced goes to waste.
The website also claims that by sharing food, a sense of community will be built.
And, maybe best of all, it will allow users to save money on meals.
The smartphone app is still in development but potential users can sign up for notification about when it will be available.
LeftoverSwap.com responded in an email that they are aiming for the app to be released for the iPone by Aug. 30.
