Harmony, FL (KTNV) -- A Florida mother is fighting back after her son was suspended from school for using his finger as a fake gun.

Bonnie Bennett said it happened during a game of "cops and robbers" with another student.

A representative for the school said the 8-year-old boy violated the school's code of conduct.

Now Bennett is speaking out, "If I don't speak for my child, no one else will. It was a game, he made no threatening advances to another child, didn't threaten to harm anyone, no words were said."

Bennett is fighting her son's suspension with the school board.

She said she's prepared to go to court if she has to.

Bennett said she just wants the suspension removed from her son's school record.
