New Trend: Buying, selling vacation time at work
New York (KTNV) -- A new trend is hitting the workplace.
Some companies are allowing their employees to buy and sell vacation time.
They said it's a perk that gives workers more flexibility in managing their time off.
A study by the Society for Human Resource Management found that 9-percent of companies let employees cash-out on unused vacation time.
7-percent let workers donate vacation time, so co-workers can use it.
5-percent of companies let workers buy more days off.
