Detroit company sells 'extreme kidnapping' experiences
(KTNV) -- It would be a horrible nightmare for most people. Maybe even a person's worst fear. But now, people are actually paying to be kidnapped.
It's called "extreme kidnapping."
A company in Detroit, Mich., offers to kidnap people and rough them up for a price.
And people are apparently doing it for the adrenaline rush.
The service is only offered in Detroit for now.
Once a person arranges for the kidnapping, they aren't actually given details. This is so that the person who is being kidnapped will be truly surprised.
The company says it is getting a lot of tourists. Many people are even flying in from Europe just to get kidnapped.
GQ Magazine recently sent in a reporter to try it out and he reported his experience.
Extreme kidnapping has a couple of package options. The economy kidnapping only costs $500. That means the person that is kidnapped will be taken to a secret location and roughed up for a couple of hours.
The deluxe job is an overnight ordeal. It is priced at $1,500.
You can also customize the experience -- naming your own torture -- for big money.
All customers receive a video of their experience.
The company says it has been doing "kidnapping experiences" in Detroit for 10 years. They say they have only had accidental police intervention and no one has ever gotten hurt.
