(KTNV) -- Chicken wings and Super Bowl. It is a well-established tradition. It is almost impossible to attend a Super Bowl party or watch the game at a bar or restaurant and not consume chicken wings.

You might want to think twice this year before serving them at your party.

According to the Huffington Post, the price of chicken wings is going up. The wholesale price is expected to rise to the "most expensive ever" this year.

Super Bowl fans are expected to consume 1.23 billion wings during this year's Super Bowl. However, that is 12.3 million less than last year, according to Yahoo News!

The price increase should not affect chicken wings sold in bars or restaurants though. Most establishments order their wings well in advance for the big day.
