Aretha Franklin tops Rolling Stone's new list
ARETHA FRANKLIN: TOPS ROLLING STONE LIST
NEW YORK (AP) -- Rolling Stone says Aretha Franklin is the "greatest rock, pop, soul singer ever."
Franklin's "I Never Loved a Man the Way I Love You" tops the magazine's "Women Who Rock: The 50 Greatest Albums of All Time."
It says no one has ever sung with "more intensity, more swagger, more soul" and calls "Respect" the essential moment of the album.
Also making the top ten: Missy Elliott and The Supremes.
Making the top 20 are Mary J. Blige, LaBelle and Etta James.
