NC site where 'Hunger Games' was shot being sold
HICKORY, N.C. (AP) -- The North Carolina site where "The Hunger Games' was filmed is being sold.
The Hickory Daily Record reports that the SyFy show "Hollywood Treasures" says in a news release that it has acquired Henry River Mill Village.
The release also reminds people of its June 5 show that will feature the village, which is in eastern Burke County near Hildebran.
According to the release, the property will be auctioned by sealed bid through Los Angeles-based Profiles in History with a deadline of July 31.
The asking price is $1.4 million.
Property owner Wade Shepherd said the show has 90 days to sell the property but he also retains the right to sell it.
Shepherd also says he wants whoever buys the property to preserve it.
