Interstate 15 is expanding, from four lanes to 6 lanes, between Craig Road and Speedway Boulevard.
Expanding that five miles will cost nearly $34 million, take 18 months, and bring around 100 new jobs.
It also brings more detours, orange cones, and road closures, but in the end officials say it'll be worth it.
"This is upping their real estate values their property values. These roads get in, that bring more wealth to that home as they get ready to sell someday they have that buffer the appreciation of that home so they should be very very happy that we're investing into their communities," North Las Vegas Mayor John Lee said.
Although construction will take place during daytime and nighttime hours, at least two travel lanes will remain open for drivers.
