Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- In just a few hours, dozens of women will be meeting for one purpose: to make Las Vegas a better place to live. A viewer told us about Helping Hands and we went expecting to see 4 or 5 women at work. Instead, we walked into a huge work room full of nearly 100 women.

If someone in this town needs something, they make it.

Quilts and blankets for the homeless, baby clothes, maternity clothes, stuffed animals, caddies for people who use walkers, tote bags... the list goes on.

Every time they hear about a need they think, "We can make that" and they do.

Phyllis Noble tells us, "In our hearts we know this is what we should be doing. We are helping others. We are helping others in our community. We gave over four thousand items out last year."

A few ladies started meeting in a garage then grew in to a huge space at Shadow Hills Baptist Church.  Many of the women who help out aren't Baptist at all. If you'd like to join them, head on down. They are there every Thursday from 9 to noon.
