Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- South Point Hotel will host Special Olympics Nevada's (SONV) fourth annual Las Vegas Polar Plunge event on Saturday, Feb. 16.
12-year-old Holly Hoffbauer is one of the people who will be participating.
Polar Plungers will be decked out in their most outrageous costumes for a pre-plunge costume contest. Immediately following the plunge, South Point Hotel's Brunswick room will host a Post-Polar Plunge Party for all participants and supporters.
The event proceeds will help provide SONV athletes the opportunity to participate in regional, national and international competitions and promote acceptance, building bonds of friendship and unity and creating lifelong memories. Plungers, which include schools, companies, law enforcement, families and individuals, were asked to raise a minimum of $125 - the cost of one season of sports instruction and competition for a Special Olympics athlete.
