Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The lights, smoke, and screaming fans make it look like any rock concert.  But the venue is Garrett Middle School.

Mike Crowder of Music Makes Music says, "So what we do it bring an MTV-style concert to the kids. We bring a message of getting in to music and staying off drugs.  It's better than an authority figure preaching to them."

Music Makes Music travels to schools all over the United States. Garrett Middle School choir and orchestra teacher Amanda Hallam jumped at the chance to have them here.  "It was a unique opportunity.  I like this kind of music but it's hard to find uplifting lyrics in rock music."

It's music with a message. The guys show up early and practice with the school's choir, orchestra, and band and then include them in the show. After the show, these rock stars will stick around promoting their drug-free message in classrooms. Judging by the reaction, these fans will hang on every word.

Music makes music has visited over 200 schools. And they only charge enough to cover their costs. Garrett Middle school told me it was hardly anything.  But the program needs funding. Click here to see how you can help.
