Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) --  A loyal Action News viewer recently decided to take action after seeing one of our stories.

Shirley Jones saw a story on Baby's Bounty.  She heard about how this non-profit provides clothes, car seats and other necessities for newborn babies who would otherwise go without.

Now retired, Shirley loves is knitting. So, she got busy making 30 pairs of baby booties for Baby's Bounty.

Shirley said, " Well, I thought it would be nice for these kids to have something homemade. Because they may end up with something someone buys them.  But having something homemade is special."

It takes Shirley about an hour to make one bootie.  Sixty hours later, she's completed 30 pairs.  As she knits, she remembers what Baby's Bounty founder Kim Amato said in our first story.  "People don't choose poverty. They don't chooses to be on welfare or unemployed or uninsured. Nobody really chooses that. Maybe we need to be less judgmental and open our hearts."

That's exactly what viewer Shirley Jones did.  In addition to the booties, Shirley's son asked all of his friends to bring something for Baby's Bounty to his annual Christmas party.
