From long-time voters to first-timers, people are already lining up for early voting at the Galleria in Henderson, which opened at 10 a.m. and goes until 8 p.m. Saturday.

Clark County is expected to receive 50,000 votes during the two-week early voting period, about 5,000 more than the 2012 presidential election.

As of 3 p.m. on Saturday, 26,766 people cast their ballots. The record for the highest voter turnout on day one of early voting was 33,182 during the previous election.

Although the lines ran smoothly, some say they would have patiently waited hours.

"The candidates are so controversial, I think that you have to get out here and vote early and make an example," said one early voter in line.

"It's our duty as citizens, as Americans," another voter added.
