It was a wild and crazy weather day in the Las Vegas valley yesterday.

Many parts of the valley received heavy rain and hail was also reported from several areas.

According to the National Weather Service, we've had the wettest April since 1965. As of 7 p.m. on Thursday, 0.22 inches of rain had fallen in the Las Vegas area.

Although our forecast is looking better for today (mostly sunny to partly cloudy with temps in the upper 70s to low 80s), that will change on Saturday.

A very similar storm is expected to move in Saturday morning. There will be more rain and maybe even more thunderstorms and hail. Snow is also possible in the higher elevations.

In fact, there is a 50 to 60 percent chance of wide-spread showers between 5 a.m. 10 p.m. Saturday.

There is less chance of rain on Sunday, but a slightly higher chance of thunderstorms (20 percent). Rain is expected at any time on Sunday between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Next week is looking pretty good though. The sun will be back and temperatures will increase throughout the week. Monday is expected to be in the low 80s. By Thursday, we could be in the low 90s.
