Neighbors in Summerlin say for the past few months, teenagers have been terrorizing their neighborhood with dirt bikes and motorcycles late at night.

A 13 Action News viewer who lives near Alta and Desert Foothills drives shared a video after she was woken up at 3:30 a.m. in July by loud screams. She found teenagers on a road near her house peeling out on a bike without helmets.

She says one of them kicked her car and threatened her.

She called Congressman Joe Heck's office about the problem because she says Las Vegas police and her homeowners association weren't responding. Heck's office called police and the problem stopped for a while about a month ago, but started up again last month.

"I've worked hard my entire life to get a nice home," she says. "And now I have a nice home and I have to deal with these teenagers."

Las Vegas police says the problem has grown in Summerlin. Last month, a 16-year-old was killed after speeding and hitting a car with a dirt bike.

Police say dirt bikes aren't just illegal on city roads; they're also unsafe because they're not designed for those type of roads.
