A thief attacked a mother and her three-year-old son during a robbery at their family-owned store.

The clothing store near Charleston Boulevard and Eastern Avenue has only been open for a few months. They've beefed up security because almost every week they get hit by crime.

The latest robbery happened last week. A woman came into the store, stole some shoes, and left. The surveillance video shows she was in no rush. She spent several minutes going up and down the aisles.

Perhaps the scariest part was the mace she waved in owner's face.

The owner says she called 911 while she could still see the thief.

Las Vegas police say the call came in at 11:06 a.m. on May 18. Officers arrived at 11:33 a.m. Police say they made this a priority zero call; that is the highest classification of call.

The owner says it wasn't fast enough. She could see the thief go to McDonald's next door before driving away.

"I was really mad. My mom was very worried, more scared toward my little brother actually being here when it happened," said Hector Gonzalez, the owner's son.

The family will have to shut down the shop for a while to make even more security upgrades.
