It's time for Walker Furniture's annual furniture giveaway to 30 families in need. It all got started Thursday morning.
The first recipient was a single mom of four who has been struggling for the last few years.
Precious Erwin is a 25-year-old single mom of four kids ranging in age from one to eight.
She recently got out of an abusive marriage leaving her and the kids bouncing around from couch to couch. At one point, the family was staying at The Shade Tree shelter.
"Right now I'm trying to pick up the pieces to my life because I've been through so much," said Erwin.
Desiree Petersen, with The Shade Tree, nominated Erwin to be one of the recipients to be gifted a house full of furniture.
Petersen says Erwin is more than deserving.
"You would have never known by looking at the children that they ever realized, they never even realized the situation that they were in because she always made sure that they were happy," said Petersen.
Erwin and her family have been sleeping and eating on the floor of their apartment for the last three months.
Not anymore.
Walker Furniture donated beds, couches, and a kitchen table. The Las Vegas Rescue Mission also provided presents and a Christmas tree.
