There's something unique about a small business.

"The quality is definitely there," said one shopper Saturday afternoon.

Container Park in downtown Las Vegas was packed Saturday. Local shoppers told Action News if there's anywhere to shop on Small Business Saturday, it's Container Park.

"We've been clocking about 400 people per hour today at the park,” said the general manager Caroline Moriarty.

Big Ern's BBQ was a crowd favorite with discounted plates.

"Twenty percent off for people that are out here supporting Small Business Saturday," said head chef Ken Brown.

Small Business Saturday is a nationwide event. Many call it a "Black Friday" for locally-owned businesses. It's their day to shell out discounts in an effort to gain small business support.

"Small businesses employ,” said one shopper. “Small businesses create. Small businesses also develop a sense of community."

Economists predict that consumers will collectively spend more than 14 billion dollars on Small Business Saturday this year.
