Toxicology report released for shooting victim Tammy Meyers

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The toxicology report has been released for Tammy Meyers, who was gunned down in a shootout in February.

The report says that she had powerful pain medications, Oxycodone and Valium,  in her system at the time of her death.

The results prove that Meyers was either legally or illegally a drug user before she died.

The defense team for the 19-year-old Erich Nowsch have been investigating claims that the shooting stemmed from a drug deal after some witnesses said that Nowsch sold prescription pills to the victim.

The Meyers family released a statement saying the results prove that she was not a drug user and claimed that she took the medication for severe back pain.

The statement reads in part:

"Tammy Meyers underwent surgery and donated multiple organs which accounts for the other trace medication. What this report apparently confirms is that Tammy Meyers was not a drug user as falsely reported."
