PAHRUMP (KTNV) -- The Nye County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that happened at a wedding reception Saturday night.

The shooting occurred in the 4000 block of Effinger Road where investigators said two people were shot while at a wedding reception held on the property in Pahrump.

"I heard at least one shot, gunfire," said neighbor Michael Weisser.

He and his wife told 13 Action News prior to Saturday's gun shots they heard extremely loud music.

"I was wondering when it was going to stop," said Michael's wife, Linda. "The music was so loud my floors were vibrating."

It's unclear why the two people were shot, or what led up the the injuries but it's believed there was some type of altercation.

Detectives say two men where hit, one in the face and another in the foot.

"They always have parties," said Michael. "They're good neighbors so I don't know what happened."

The homeowner declined to speak to 13 Action News on camera but he did say the reception was for his daughter, adding there were roughly 90 people in attendance.

Both victims were responsive when medical personnel arrived on scene. At least one of the victims was taken to University Medical Center in Las Vegas.

Police have not named any suspects and currently do not have a suspect description at this time.

Neighbors say after the gunfire at least 30 cars left the area.
