Leslie concedes Nevada Senate race to Brower
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Democrat Sheila Leslie has conceded her hotly contested Nevada Senate race to Republican Greg Brower.
In a statement issued late Wednesday, Leslie said she called to congratulate Brower on his victory and she accepts the decision of Reno voters in District 15 with gratitude for the democratic process.
A veteran legislator who resigned her seat in a safe Democratic district and challenged Brower, Leslie led the race most of the night Tuesday but lost by 266 votes as the final absentee ballots were counted.
Sen. Mo Denis said Wednesday that Democrats are looking at "anomalies" involving provisional ballots.
Leslie says while those issues may continue to be debated, she believes in the integrity of the voting process and will leave the issue to election officials.
