A team of searchers is gearing up for a trip to St. George, Utah, this weekend to continue the search for 17-year-old Macin Smith, who vanished last month.

The teenager was last seen along a highway holding a sign that read "Hitchhiking to Las Vegas." Several searches have been conducted since his disappearance in both Las Vegas and Utah.

The official search has been called off, but Red Rock Search and Rescue refuses to give up, along with the boy's family.

Dave Cummings, who is in charge of the search and rescue group, says that he doesn't give up. According to Cummings, at least 10 people from Vegas will be heading to Utah and will meet another group there.

They will uses horses, cadaver dogs and ATVs to assist them in their search, which will take place in a 48-square-mile area outside of Saint George.

Cummings says they have a good idea of where to look and they are not giving up hope that Smith could be hiding and still alive.

Red Rock Search and Rescue is a nonprofit organization and relies on donations to fund their searches. Smith's family has also set up a GoFundMe account to assist the search and rescue group.
