A homeowner in Henderson is saying a possible dust devil ripped off the roof of his home.

"It touched down, lifted a bunch of stuff up, and it disappeared," said Ray DeLillo, "... When I got home, I was just kind of like what the heck."

Witnesses told DeLillo it was a dust devil.

"It's just one of the freak things," he said.

There is a lot of damage, the fence is uprooted and debris is thrown around in the backyard near Boulder Highway and Basic Road.

The National Weather Service says a dust devil was possible Monday but has not confirmed it yet.

13 Action News spoke to the family about the frightening experience.

"I just feel the house start shaking," said 16-year-old Christopher Wayland, "... I tell everybody get down because I think it's an earthquake."

Wayland's four young siblings were not injured.

The roof is currently being fixed. The family hopes it doesn't rain before then.
