Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department joined local churches for a prayer walk through one of the Valley's most crime-ridden neighborhoods.

The group prayer took place Saturday at Mountain Vista Street and Karen Avenue.

The area has an increasing crime rate and is one of the busiest for police in the southeast Valley.

This kicked off the "Operation of Hope" initiative, which aims to cut crime and help residents feel safer.
