Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) - Golfers were teeing it up Tuesday at Spanish Trail Country Club to help the Public Education Foundation. The Tee Up For Kids event benefits a program that supports literacy in Southern Nevada. Proceeds also help make sure a teacher's resource center is stocked and available. Organizers expect this year's outing to bring in about $40,000.

About 100 golfers took part in this tournament. Since 1991, the foundation has raised more than $75 million to improve teaching and learning in Southern Nevada's Public Schools.
