Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Some high school students are getting a huge leg up on their education thanks to Smith's Food and Drug Stores.
The chain has granted five $2,000 scholarships to Las Vegas high school students through the Personal Best Public Education Foundation.
Recipients demonstrated a commitment to overcoming adversity, a passion for their ongoing education and have illustrated financial need.
Smith's helped launch the foundation's scholarship program in 1994 and has awarded more than 90 Personal Best Scholarships since that time.
