Families living near Buffalo and Washington say their pigeon problem has gotten so bad to the point where they need help.

Andrew Martinez says the pigeons have gotten increasingly worse over the past three years. He says it is so bad he can hardly let his dog out.

"They just started crowding around the food and they scared my dog, she was terrified," he said.

At any given time, you can see multiple pigeons perching on roofs up and down the street. We also saw some picking through trash and flying in and out of cracks and crevices of homes.

"These pigeons are awful," said Martinez. "I'm glad someone is finally doing something about it."

John Zuasola with Red Rock Pest Control says pigeons are in town all year around but are the worst from March to June.

Trapping them will only fix the problem short-term. You must hire a professional service to use exclusion techniques on the birds if you want them gone for good.

For instance, the nests and eggs must be removed.

We watched Zuasola remove half a dozen pigeon eggs from one roof.

After having professional work done, it could take up to a month to notice a drastic change and for the birds to officially relocate.
