Parents and staff at Kids Garden near Bonanza and Nellis say they were shocked when they arrived at the daycare last Tuesday to find the doors closed.

They say the facility was open as normal Monday, but Tuesday they found the locked doors along with a note on the door.

Staff members and teacher say since then, they haven't been paid, and the owner, Cheryl Gillins, is nowhere to be found.

Meanwhile, parents say some of them paid tuition for the full week of the closure, and aren't sure if they'll even get their money back.

But more importantly, they say the move takes their kids away from a place that felt like home without a chance to say goodbye.

Some of the teachers also say have certificates and supplies that are left inside the locked building.

13 Action News attempted to reach Gillins, but all numbers associated with her are either disconnected or go straight to voicemail.

It's not clear what led up to the closing, but a search of the Nevada Secretary of State's registry shows the business license expired the end of November and is listed in "default."
