A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a drunk driver on Friday evening.

Police say the incident happened around 9:51 p.m. near Rancho Drive and Sahara Avenue. Evidence at the scene and a witness statement indicated a 52-year-old male was crossing Rancho Drive outside of a crosswalk. A 1997 Acura, driven by 43-year-old Elaine Price, struck the pedestrian while traveling northbound on Rancho Drive.

Price fled the scene in the Acura. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The Clark County coroner identified the pedestrian as 52-year-old David Klucka. He did not have a city of residence listed. His cause of death was blunt force injuries from the crash.

Police officers in the area located Price and determined she was impaired. She was arrested for driving under the influence and leaving the scene of a collision.
