This is a roundup of all the breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley for October 22, 2017.

11 P.M.

Update on White Cap Street shooting: Police say the shooting was the result of an accidental discharge which the victim had been reluctant to share. There is no outstanding suspect.

9 P.M.

Las Vegas police say that a victim told a resident in the 5600 block of White Cap Street that he had been shot. The resident then contacted police who responded to the scene. The man was taken to UMC with a non-life-threatening injury. Detectives are on scene to try to determine what exactly occurred. There is no suspect in custody at this time.

7:13 A.M. 

Three adults and three dogs were displaced after a garage caught fire at 3175 Casanova Circle around 12:41 a.m. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

7:10 A.M.

Firefighters were once again called to a fire in a vacant apartment complex at 901 West McWilliams Avenue around 2 a.m. The fire was out within 15 minutes and no injuries were reported. Officials say it appears squatters had been staying in the building.
