This is a roundup of all the breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley for October 19, 2017.

8:21 P.M.

Las Vegas police are investigating a shooting in the 2800 block of North Pecos Road that happened at 8:21 p.m. One person was shot in the chest and transported to the hospital in unknown condition. Police suspect the shooting may be gang related.

5:40 P.M.

Las Vegas Fire & Rescue says that the fire in the home near Jones Boulevard and Alta Drive earlier today appears to have been electrical in nature. 4 people in the home were able to escape without injury.

5:30 P.M.

Firefighters put out a fire on the second floor of a vacant house at 8701 Shady Pines Drive, near El Capitan Way and Durango Drive. No one was injured, and squatters are suspected of starting the fire.

4:55 P.M.

A second Clark County School District school bus was involved in a separate crash around 4:30 p.m. near Burnham Avenue and Vegas Valley Drive. No injuries were reported. READ MORE.

2:44 P.M.

Hiker injured near Red Rock Canyon has been tranpsorted to University Medical Center.

2:20 P.M.

Another Clark County School District school bus was involved in a crash on Thursday afternoon. It happened around 2:20 p.m. The bus was transporting 15 students from Peterson Academic Center. The crash happened near the 215 beltway and Durango Drive in southwest Las Vegas. No injuries have been reported.

12:16 P.M.

Las Vegas police say they received a call about a hiker who fell outside the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area near Calico Drive and Heyer Way around 12:16 p.m. The hiker, believed to be in his 20s, may have back injuries. Resident officers are on the way to the hiker.

7 A.M.

North Las Vegas is reporting that they received a call about a suspicious package at a business at approximately 7 a.m. The business is located near Arcata Way and Aerojet Way, which is near Craig and Losee roads. Some of the nearby businesses have been evacuated as a precaution and road closures are in effect.

6 A.M.

A three-car crash causes a major back up on I-15, near Sahara Avenue. The back up goes as far north as Cheyenne Avenue. Expect delays traveling northbound this morning.

1:19 A.M.

A fire was reported overnight at 365 Wisteria Avenue, near Jones Boulevard and Alta Drive. Three adults and one teen have been displaced as a result of the fire, which may have started in a bedroom, but no injuries have been reported.
