This is a roundup of all the breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley for September 2, 2017.

8:11 P.M.

North Las Vegas Fire Department reports that a double wide mobile home was a complete loss after a fire. One man was home at the time, but escaped with no injuries. The fire was determined to be electrical in nature and was accidental. Damage is estimated at $50,000.

5:39 P.M.

A citizen found a baby inside a car at a Smith's parking lot at 6130 West Tropicana Avenue around 3:45 p.m. Temperatures outside were around 106 degrees Fahrenheit. The citizen was able to open the door, and officers arrived and took the baby out of the vehicle. The mom was located inside the grocery store and arrested on felony child abuse charges. The baby appears to be in good health, and was turned over to the father.

4:50 P.M.

Around 2:19 p.m., an 8-year-old boy fell unconscious after going under the water at an apartment complex pool near Craig Road and Las Vegas Boulevard. One of the other kids pulled him out of the pool and rendered CPR to get him breathing again. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Abuse and Neglect detectives are investigating the incident.

10:06 A.M.

Firefighters put out a fire in the attic of a home near Durango Drive and Gowan Road around 3:26 a.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Two adults and three children were displaced.
