This is a roundup of all the breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley for September 12, 2017.

6:50 P.M.

Las Vegas police said the bodies found in the apartment on Karen Avenue appear to be heavily decomposed, probably two weeks or so. There was also no power to the unit, possibly longer, with the temperature at 90 degrees when police arrived. Investigators are working on identifying the bodies and determining causes of death.

4:54 P.M.

Las Vegas police report two bodies were found inside an apartment in the 1700 block of Karen Avenue, near Sahara Avenue and Maryland Parkway. A resident at the complex called apartment management about a foul odor coming from an apartment. The fire department found a deceased woman in her 50s in the main room and another deceased person, whose age and gender are unknown, in a different room of the apartment.

2:08 P.M.

A second firefighter was transported to the hospital due to the fire near Desert Inn and Sandhill roads. Both firefighter injuries are reported to be non-life threatening.

12:40 P.M.

A firefighter was transported to the hospital for injuries sustained in a townhouse fire located at 3737 E. Desert Inn Road, near Sandhill Road. Damage estimates and the cause of fire are pending. 34 personnel responded to the fire. 

8:08 A.M.

A flight arriving from Burbank into McCarran International Airport reported a possible cargo fire upon landing.

Southwest Airlines flight #1625 was held on the landing pad as McCarran's Clark County Fire Department crew responded. The incident was resolved without injury and taxied safely to the gate.

They are investigating whether or not the plane was actually on fire.

1:04 A.M.

A 60-year-old woman claims she was approached by a black male suspect near Stewart Avenue and robbed. READ MORE
