6:43 P.M.

Las Vegas police say a one-year-old male was stuck and killed by a vehicle in the 4700 block of Sphinx Way near North Nellis Boulevard and East Cheyenne Avenue. The child was in the street playing with other children when struck by the vehicle. The vehicle then fled the scene. The child was taken to UMC where they were pronounced dead. Right now there is no description of the suspect vehicle. This investigation is ongoing.

1:41 A.M.

A motorcyclist was killed at approximately 1:41 a.m. in a collision near East Sahara Avenue and South Van Patten Street. Police say the motorcyclist was approaching the intersection at a high rate of speed and struck the right front side of a Hyundai driven by a 40-year-old woman. The motorcyclist was ejected from his bike and died at the scene. The driver of the Hyundai passed a field sobriety test. This was the 109th traffic-related fatality this year in Las Vegas. The crash remains under investigation.
