9:37 P.M.

A man is killed after a shooting near Walnut Road and Alexander Road. Las Vegas police confirmed that the shooting happened inside a residence on the 4100 block of Eileen Street around 7:30 P.M. The victim was taken to a local hospital where he died. Another man has been detained on scene.

6 P.M.

The Nevada Department of Corrections reported on May 10, 74-year-old inmate Billy R. Oldham died at the Regional Medical Facility inside Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City. Oldham was committed from Elko County on Dec. 21, 1999. He was serving a sentence of 7 years to life with parole for use of a minor in producing pornography and possession of child pornography.

1 P.M.

A plane leaving McCarran International Airport and head to El Paso, Texas was forced to make an unexpected landing in Phoenix, Arizona.

Southwest flight 3769 operating from Las Vegas to El Paso safely diverted to Phoenix Sky Harbor International after indications of a possible mechanical issue. The aircraft is being taken out of service and another aircraft will be provided for the Customers to continue to El Paso, arriving approximately two hours behind their scheduled arrival time.

There were 129 passengers and five crew members.

8:16 A.M.

Utility workers discovered a body near North Valle Verde Drive and I-215 while performing a pipeline inspection. The access area to the site is between Bogey Way and Paladin Court.

6:30 A.M.

The LVMPD Homicide Section is currently investigating a homicide which occurred at an apartment complex at 2880 S. Decatur. Preliminary information suggests that an adult male shot his neighbor who died at the scene.

Police are investigating it as self-defense.  The shooter claims a man came into his apartment and tried to attack him with a knife. READ MORE.

5:30 A.M.

An incident involving a vehicle and a bicycle rider near Cheyenne Avenue and Losee Road.

12:16 A.M.

LVMPD Robbery detectives are investigating an attempted armed robbery that occurred at 1401 North Rainbow Boulevard.  During the attempted robbery, one of the suspects was shot by an employee of the business.  The suspect who was shot was taken into custody by responding patrol officers and subsequently transported to the hospital where he is currently in surgery as of 12:15 a.m.  A second black male suspect, medium build, unknown height last seen wearing a dark gray hoodie, black shorts, and white shoes is outstanding.
