This is a roundup of all the breaking news stories from around the Las Vegas valley for June 16, 2017.

2:13 P.M.

The Las Vegas police are investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred at E Carey and Marion Dr.  The collision involved a semi and motorcycle.  The motorcyclist has been pronounced deceased and the Fatal Detail will be investigating this incident.

 The road will be closed for the extent of the investigation. 

1:28 P.M.

Las Vegas Fire & Rescue says a firefighter is being transported to hospital from scene of house fire on Ash Avenue for possibly being overheated. 

12:45 P.M.

Las Vegas Fire & Rescue is on scene of a fire in a vacant, one-story house on Ash Avenue, which is near North 21st Street and Stewart Avenue. The fire has been extinguished and they are currently looking for hot spots. No injuries reported. Cause unknown.

12:02 P.M.

Las Vegas Fire & Rescue responded to a fire on Connie Avenue near Alta Drive and Rainbow Boulevard. It started in the backyard and spread to a shed. It also spread to back of the house and damaged a power meter. Damage estimated at $5,000. No reported injuries.

1:30 A.M.

Firefighters were called to a two-alarm fire in a vacant apartment building just north of the Stratosphere. It took several hours to put out the fire due to the fact that the fire was primarily between the roofs of 2 buildings and not easily reached. The trapped fire created a lot of smoke in the area. The fire may have been caused by squatters. Damage estimated at $100,000.

OVERNIGHT

A child and two others have been injured in a crash that occurred near Jones Boulevard and Sahara Avenue.
