This is a roundup of all the breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley for July 15, 2017

6:55 P.M.

Around 4:50 p.m., police responded to reports of an injured child at the Grandview Resort at 9940 South Las Vegas Boulevard. Officers determined that the child was suffering from heat-related injuries. The 3-year-old child was subsequently taken to the hospital where they were pronounced dead. Abuse and Neglect officers are investigating the case.

5 P.M.

The Arena at South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa was evacuated at approximately 5 p.m. due to a security concern. The situation was investigated and all guests were back in the Arena by 5:30 p.m. The property is open to the public and operating normally. No word yet on what the security concern was.

4:13 P.M.

Las Vegas firefighters responded to a house fire in the 2900 block of Theresa Avenue near North Mojave Road & East Washington Road at 4:13 p.m. Firefighters had the fire under control in 15 minutes and they were able to rescue three dogs from the house. Damage was estimated at $50,000.

10:00 A.M.

One pedestrian is dead after being hit by a car near Boulder Highway and Desert Horizons Drive. The collision happened around 9 a.m. while the pedestrian was crossing outside of the crosswalk. Drivers are asked to avoid the area due to debris and a lengthy traffic investigation.
