UPDATE: The DMV has received reports of outside parties charging fees for setting DMV appointments.
Appointments are offered at no charge. Make sure you book your appointment through the official DMVwebsite.

ORIGINAL STORY:

It's always a good day when you can skip the line at the DMV.

Starting Monday, you can hop online and sign up for an appointment. Most appointments start this Friday.

It's called Dash Pass and all you have to do is select a location on the DMV website, choose a time and give a phone number. A confirmation text is sent almost immediately.

People used to waiting for hours are excited about the prospect of scheduled appointments.

"I'm sure it will take some smoothing over, but if it works like they want it to, that's awesome," said Chris Provost of Henderson.
