KY teen banned from saying 'bingo'
(KTNV) -- A Kentucky teenager has been slapped with an unusual punishment for a poorly-timed remark.
Austin Whaley, age 18, is banned from saying the word "bingo."
It all started when Whaley walked into a bingo hall in the middle of a game and yelled "bingo!"
Whaley says that all the ladies who were playing at the time ignored him but a security officer handcuffed him and gave him a ticket.
The officer that gave him the ticket compared it to yelling "fire" in a theater.
Tthe judge took a more lenient view but he banned Whaley from saying the word "bingo" for six months.
His family has also said that he can't go back to the bingo hall.
