Crews finish demolishing house over Florida sinkhole
(KTNV) -- It was a tough day for family yesterday as workers finished tearing down the Florida house where a man disappeared into a sinkhole.
The sinkhole is believed to be about 50 feet deep and officials say they are no longer looking for Jeffrey Bush.
They say that the situation is too dangerous and they need to stabilize the sinkhole that is threatening to swallow up two neighboring homes.
Crews managed to retrieve a lot of personal belongings from the home before tearing it down but the family says that is not enough.
Meanwhile, officials say they have their hands full because another sinkhole has opened up just a few miles away.
The sinkholes are not connected. Unfortunately, it is a rather common problem in Florida.
At this time, no one is being evacuated at the location of the new sinkhole.
