Olympic star back in court for murder of girlfriend
(KTNV) -- A judge is saying that it is possible that Olympic hero Oscar Pistorious may have planned the murder of his model girlfriend and that means the charge of premeditated murder will stand.
Pistorious, known as the "blade runner" from the London Olympic games, sobbed uncontrollably in court this morning as prosecutors laid out the case against him.
They told a judge that Pistorious put on his artificial legs, walked 20 feet to a tiny bathroom, and shot four times through a locked door.
The prosecution is calling it a planned murder and just hours ago, a judge said that he cannot rule that out so charges of premeditation will go forward.
The Olympic star is still maintaining that he shot his girlfriend by accident, thinking that he shot an intruder.
A funeral for Reeva Steenkamp was also held in her hometown this morning.
Pistorious said in court that Steenkamp had been in bed with him when he thought he heard an intruder.
He claims that he did not know that she had gone into the bathroom when he shot through the door killing her.
He will be back in court in the morning.
