Americans to spend $18 billion on Valentine's Day gifts
Love can be hard on the bank account, especially for men.
Americans will spend an estimated $18.6 billion on Valentine's candy, flowers, jewelry and gifts this year.
That's about $131 a person and up $5 from last year, according to the National Retail Federation.
And there seems to be a gender divide, because men will fork out twice as much as the ladies.
If those numbers give you sticker shock, take some advice from TheNest.com and try spending time rather than money on your relationship.
